GovJenJennifer Hsieh
2011-’12 NJCKI Governor

“Hello New Jersey!

My name is Jennifer Hsieh and I have the district pleasure to serve as your District Governor for the 2011-2012 Service Year. I’m currently a senior at Rutgers University and I am studying the field of Marketing. Having been in the K-Family for seven years, I am so excited to be able to continue my journey with New Jersey Circle K. I started off my freshman year of high school by joining Key Club; I went from being a general member, to Club Editor, and finally I finished my experience serving as Key Club President.

Once I entered college there was no doubt in my mind that I wanted to be a part of Circle K, the collegiate chapter of the Kiwanis Family. Rutgers University Circle K was so welcoming that I couldn’t help but return to each meeting. I served Circle K as Historian/Scrapbooking Chair, Club Representative, District Editor, and now as your District Governor.

When I’m not consuming my time with all things Circle K, I also spend time working for Rutgers Student Life as a Photographer/Media Manager in the Media and Marketing Department. I also intern for a social media and digital networking company in New York City and I run my own blog. I spend the rest of my time running around with my beloved camera as an amateur photographer.

I am so excited to be serving you New Jersey Circle K’ers this upcoming service year. I know that together we can accomplish great things and grow as both individuals and as a team. Having seen first hand what you guys can do when you come together gives me confidence to say that New Jersey will go far this year.

This year we are focusing on using our VOICE and letting the world know what we are all about. Being a service organization, it’s important for us to remember to Volunteer – get involved in the community and always be willing to lend a helping hand. Focus less on the politics and more about the service. Stay Organized – with organization comes efficiency which will allow us to reach our full potential! Inspire others with the great things that New Jersey Circle K can do – don’t be afraid to dream a little bigger. Be the volunteer, the member, and the leader, and the friend that others aspire to be. Connect with other clubs within New Jersey and also clubs from other districts. Being an international organization we have the opportunity to meet people from all over the world who share the same passion for service. Take this opportunity and make a new friend or two. We are not just a district made up of individual clubs; we are a family. And finally, Educate. Tell the world our mission and advocate our causes – Circle K has so much to share with the world.

I can already sense that this year will be an amazing year. The District Board has already been hard at work planning exciting events, creating new resources, and simplifying duties. Seeing the passion that drives these individuals is an inspiration all on it’s own. I can’t wait to see what this service year has in store for New Jersey.  Thank you for your commitment to Circle K and the New Jersey District. Stay strong and keep on serving, New Jersey!”

Yours in Caring and Service,

Jennifer Hsieh
2011 – 2012 District Governor
